'Isinu Aregbe': Former Osun Governor Doles Out Free Ramadan Meal To Residents - Report

It's another merriment for the people of Osogbo community, the Osun state capital as the free food for breaking Ramadan fasting commenced again this year.

Even though Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola's tenure has finished as a former governor of Osun state, he has continued the yearly free feeding of people to break their fasting.

VAM News confirmed that the 2021 edition Commenced on Thursday, at Jaleyemi Junction, beside Primary health care center, area of Osogbo.

Speaking with VAM news, Mr. Rasheed Bello popularly known as Al kidam, told our correspondent how the programme started years back.

Rasheed, is the Chairman of Jaleyemi for good governance.

He said the programme have started since like 15 years back. Even before the advent of Aregbesola as the Governor of the state.

Another resident, Imam Abduljeleel Oladimeji, narrated how the programme was emerged. He said the programme was originated by the Jaleyemi youths.

"The programme was facilitated by Jaleyemi Youths, it was after the advent of Aregbesola as the governor of Osun state that they turned it to 'Isinu Aregbesola' because of their love for Aregbesola and also to show support for his government without the knowledge of Aregbesola. It was after like 2-3years that they have been calling it 'Isinu Aregbe' before Rauf Aregbesola himself was aware of such a programme."

"Since then Aregbesola has been supporting the programme."

Mr. Idris Mufutau, leader of Jaleyemi for good governance was interviewed too. While speaking with our reporter, he said " even though Aregbasola is no more the governor of Osun state his works are still making people talking about him and remembering his good deeds when he was the governor.

He added, "We the people of Jaleyemi, we shall be Aregbasola supporter for ever and we shall be there for him anytime we are needed by him.

Also, another resident, Alfa Adesina Nurayn Olorunnisetemi, in his statement to VAM News during the programme, he commended Aregbesola for the good works he has done when he was the governor of Osun state.

"May God reward Aregbesola for the 'Isinu Aregbe' that is going on at Jaleyemi street during the Ramadan and he implored other politicians too to learn from Aregbasola."

He further commended the present governor of Osun state too for the good works he doing in Osogbo.
