Nigerians react as governor suspends chief of staff for spraying cash on Odumeje

A report by The Cable indicates that Dr. ACB Agbazuere has been suspended by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as the chief of staff to the Abia state government.

A video of Agbazuere spraying money on popular Onitsha-based cleric, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, better known as Odumeje, has been trending online.

In the video shared on social media, Agbazuere is seen spraying naira notes in his office on the controversial clergyman with many Nigerians condemning the action of the government official.

In a short statement on Sunday, December 6, Chris Ezem, secretary to the state government, announced that the chief of staff has been suspended immediately.

Part of the statement read:

“Abia state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the immediate suspension from office of the chief of staff to the governor, Dr. ACB Agbazuere.”

Some Nigerians have been reacting to the suspension of the government official.

Buchi Ogba wrote on Twitter:

“They are all birds of the same feather. Bar. ABC Agbazuere is a member of the inner caucus. They'll settle him with another juicy post.”

Emmy Onuoha wrote:

“Audio suspension, just to allow the frenzy to die down.”

Chukwuma Oliver wrote:

“Suspends!? The man should be outrightly sacked because by suspending him, it means that tomorrow he may be recalled to come and be spreading Abia state money while our Abia state health workers are being owed salaries.”

Atanda Ife wrote:

“Suspended or sacked. He should be held accountable and made to return the money to serve as a deterrent to others.”

Ejiofor Onyishi wrote:

“If they are not the same in character he needs to be sacked entirely for such display of raw cash just for fun coming from a state like Abia which is regarded as one of the worse states not paying workers and pensioners for months and poor infrastructural development.”

VAM News recalls earlier that the video had gone viral and generated some reactions.

Odumeje was seen in the video displaying in his usual way and introducing himself as 'Indaboski'.

Odumeje took to his social media page recently to share video clips from his latest song, Official Umu Jesus Christ.

The video clips revealed that the clergyman featured singer Flavour as they donned similar outfits while singing and dancing.
