Secession: Former PDP Governor Drops Bombshell, Opens Up on North's Alleged Plan to Leave Nigeria

Senator Rashidi Ladoja, former governor of Oyo state, has alleged that Nothern Nigerian is also making plans to leave the country.

Daily Sun reported that the prominent politician said this on Thursday, May 13, while reacting to the secession agitations in Southern Nigeria, specifically the southeast and the southwest.

The Oyo-born politician further claimed that the north has been working hard to ensure a smooth take-off of probably Arewa Republic.

According to him, the north is working hard to actualise its succession plan while the southeast and the southwest have been talking too much.

VAM News gathers that Ladoja made the claims in an interview with newsmen in his house after observing the 2021 Eid-el-Fitr prayer at the University of Ibadan Central Mosque.

His words: "If you are saying because of that you want to go or don’t want to go, who even tells you that the north is not even getting ready to go?

“Let us look at it that you people in the South are talking too much, and the people up North are acting too much.

In Yorubaland, we talk too much. Even, people that don’t know anything about what the idea is all about will also speak on it."

Ladoja alleged that the federal government's railway project connecting Maiduguri to the Niger Republic and an alleged new refinery in Daura were parts of the north's groundwork for secession.

He said: “The North is also preparing to leave and they are working at it. Do you think it is a mistake that they are constructing railway to Niger Republic when we have not built railway from Ibadan to Kano, not even Abuja, and they said that is the first place we are going to spend our money?

Can’t the refinery in Kaduna be repaired? "Why are they saying they would build another refinery in Daura (Katsina State)?

And they would be bringing crude oil from Niger Republic to the place. Don’t let us deceive ourselves, maybe a time will come when all of us will sit down together and separate peacefully."

Nevertheless, the prominent politician urged Nigerians to exercise tolerance, warning that the country cannot afford to go to war over the secessionist agitations, Daily Trust stated.

He noted that a time may come when all the major regions in the country will sit together and agree peacefully to separate.
