Breaking: Hawker dies after being hit by truck in Akure

A hawker, simply identified as Alan was on Monday crushed to death in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

The incident happened at Onyearugbulem junction, in Akure South local government when the victim was trying to sell his goods to a moving trailer.

According to eyewitnesses, Alan who halls from Owerri in IMO state jumped into a moving trailer thinking the truck would wait for him to cross to the other side of the road but fell and was crushed by the moving trailer.

Some youths were said to have chased the trailer and looted food items including cartons of noodles.

Officers of the Federal Road Safety corps have deposited his remains at the morgue of the Akure annex of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital.
