Big blow for Nigeria as top Premier League star snubs Super Eagles

Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo has no intentions to play for Nigeria's Super Eagles as he hopes he could get a call up to England's Three Lions.

Tosin Adarabioyo opts to play for England.

Despite his teammate Ola Aina and Josh Maja choosing to play for Nigeria, Adarabioyo has his sights fixed on playing for England, his country of birth.

According to the former Man City star, he fancies his chance of making England's final squad for the Euros later this year.

“We know it’s the Euros this summer, so hopefully if I keep on doing well, who knows I could be looking to push myself in that squad,” the one-time England U19 star Adarabioyo told The Telegraph.

He added: "Obviously there are a lot of good players to choose from but if I do what I can do best there is a chance.” Adarabioyo's Fulham currently sit in 18th position on the Premier League table.

The 23-year-old defender recently recorded 100 career appearances in England. Adarabioyo was born in England to Nigerian parents who are from Oyo state in the Southern part of Nigeria.

But he grew up in Manchester and has represented his country of birth at the U-19 level.

He is one of the four Nigerian players at Fulham along with Ola Aina and Josh Maja who both already switched from England to Nigeria.

The trio are joined by Ademola Lookman who is also of Nigerian descent and has also applied with FIFA to change nationality from England to Nigeria.
