Four students nabbed in Osun for ‘cultism’

Four students suspected to be cultists have been apprehended by policemen in Osun state for allegedly planning to foment trouble in the state polytechnic.

The suspects were said to have planned to cause chaos after examination in the Osun State Polytechnic Iree.

The suspects are: Akintade Wisdom, Sodiq Opeyemi, Olayinka Fadeyi and Azeez Olalekan.

A student source said the cultists usually fight after final examination and the fight usually lead to loss of lives.

According to the source, the cultists would have known the date of final examination and would have arrived the town to trail those they have planned to kill.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the arrest of the suspects.

According to Opalola, the Anti-cultism state Criminal Investigation Department received information that the suspects were planning to cause chaos at Osun poly.

She said investigation revealed that the suspects are not students of Osun poly but their mission was to cause chaos.

Opalola explained that the suspects have been handed over to the SCID for further investigation.
