98 killed, 532 injured in Anambra auto crash – FRSC

NO fewer than 98 persons died while 536 were injured in Anambra State road crashes in 2019.

The State Sector Commander, Andrew Kumapayi, disclosed this on Tuesday during the 2020 Commemoration of World Day of Remembrance for Victims of Road Traffic crashes themed, ‘Remember, Support, Act’.

He said the casualties were recorded from 190 crashes, adding that the accidents involved 340 males and 192 females.

Kumapayi said, “Out of the 98 persons that lost their lives in the crashes, 71 were male while 27 were female. As per the crashes, 53 of them were fatal, 109 were serious, while 28 were minor.”

He noted that the trauma occasioned by the recent #EndSARS protests was not enough to deter his officers and men from rendering quality and efficient services to the people of the state.
