Ondo LG 2020: We will commit resources to revamping education in Idanre -- Prince Aroloye
By Deji Adebayo
The leading candidate in the April 18th, 2020, Ondo State Local Government Elections under the banner of All Progressives Congress (APC) Prince Kayode Aroloye, has said he will focus very great energy and available resources to revamping the dwindling educational system in Idanre Local Government if elected as the Chairman of the council.
He said this while responding to news men recently in Akure, the Ondo State capital at a function.
Prince Aroloye commended the giant strives of the Arakunrin Akeredolu led government of Ondo State on promoting quality of educational system in the state through the efforts of Princess Oladunni Odu led Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (OSUBEB) as also reflected in the efforts of Chief Victor Ojo Alalabiaye, the SUBEB Education Secretary in Idanre LG.
According to the Prince, "We will concentrate commendable percentage of our resources and energy on education. In not too distant past, as some notable personalities in Ondo State can bear me witness, Idanre used to be a reference point of excellent performances in external examinations. We used to be the best in WAEC in Ondo State. Colleges from other parts of Ondo State are usually scared to compete and debate against Idanre. Our pupils are also always happy to be in schools".
He said, "Thank God for the great jobs some of the philanthropic socio-cultural groups and NGOs like Idanre Development Foundation (IDF), Club 66, Ola Universal Foundation, and some others are doing in Idanre. We will partner & support them , both morally, logistically and financially. We will bring competitiveness among our students and ensure our school environments are ideal and conducive for teaching and learning processes. Diligence and dedication to work among our teachers will be encouraged."
He said, come 18th of April, 2020, by the grace of the Almighty God, before our first year anniversary, we will have a befitting e-library and a well equipped Computerized Center for JAMB Examination in Idanre"
Prince Aroloye said he recently asked one of his kinsmen in Abuja to visit JAMB and make enquiries on how to be accredited as a JAMB center as our students will no longer need to go to Akure or any other local government to write JAMB and thus avoid the stress our students go through to acquire knowledge which ordinarily should be readily available. We will be apolitical when we resume in order to achieve our goals because development is a project requiring collective responsibilities and we must all be ready to work together."
Prince Aroloye said he will seek supports and approval to convert the Idanre Town Hall building, built by the former Senator Tayo Alasoadura to an ICT Centre, which he believed, will add more value to our community. He said he thanked God that Idanre is having our brothers in both Senate and House of Representatives, who he will write to seek support and believed they will oblige as partners in progress.
