NYSC Members issue scholarship to students, unveil war against Suicide and Skill Acquisition in Enugu

Members of the National youths service corps(NYSC) serving in Enugu North local government area of Enugu under the aegis of Charity CDs Group, Enugu North Chapter, On this fateful and remarkable day, the 27th of February, 2020,  took a bold step to the completion of their project/Sensitization which turned out to be phenomenal and stupendous, VAM News reports.

The Charity CDs and the members took their project to the next level by organizing a competition for the three sensitized schools which were Day Secondary School:
Topic: The Effects of Formal Education in our future as leaders of Tomorrow. 

Is Formal Education the key to a successful future?,  Coal Camp Secondary school and
 "The Effect of Entrepreneurship and skill Acquisition in our Future as Leaders of tomorrow. )" 

Is Skill Acquisition or Entrepreneurship the key to a successful future? and Lastly, Metropolitan Girls Secondary school. Topic: 
The Effects of Suicide and Depression in our lives and Future as Leaders of Tomorrow?) 


The competition proved to be a tough and demanding one as competitors tenaciously and dogmatically engaged the judges and the Audience in a long talk with short playlets/Drama presentation. 
Later on, the winners emerged. 


While Day Secondary school took the first position with a whooping 115 points, Metropolitan Girls took the 2nd position with 109 points, and lastly, Coal Camp took the third position with 65 points. 


However, incentives which came as scholarships were given to outstanding best speakers and best performers: two best speakers emerged from Day secondary school and were given a Year fully funded scholarship and two terms fully funded scholarship respectively. 



The best performer from Metropolitan Girls was given a term fully funded scholarship. 



Apart from the above mentioned scholarships, little prizes and gifts were given to all the competitors/Participants as a reward and reinforcement of their zeal and confidence towards preparation for the task assigned to them. 



In addition to the above, awards of meritorious service were given to dignitaries which included the Local Government Inspector, Mr. Bassey Ekpe, the Zonal Inspector, The Charity CDs Cordinator et Al. Courtesy from Charity CDs Group. 



In the words of Mr. Bassey, The LGI, he commended the Charity CDs and her members for the award and successful organizing of the big event.

At the end of the event, Corper Adeola Melodi led other Corpers to sing NYSC anthem to the admiration of the students who were quite inspirationally listening to the melodious anthem.
