International Day of Education 2020: NANS Presidential hopeful, Asefon host maiden edition in a grand style

Comrade Sunday Asefon, the leading presidential candidate of the National Association of Nigerian students (NANS) held the maiden edition to mark the International Day of Education today, 24th January.



Asefon Sunday disclosed this in a Brief containing activity outlined to commemorate the day and made available to newsmen in Ekiti.


Asefon said the symbol of New NANS team has moved round some institutions across the country, University of Port Harcourt, Osun state Polytechnic iree, Kano state university, Kwara state university, Taraba university, Imo state university... Among others to dialogue with the students union leaders, Nigerian students to know the challenges and difficulties being encounter by the students.


Education not only helps to get a job opportunity but it also enhances your ability in broader areas, he said.




Asefon described education as a public responsibility, and also the best investment that one can make to ensure a sustainable future and leave no one behind.


He said, “24th January is proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly as International Day of Education to honour education and its centrality to human well-being and sustainable development.


However, millions are still deprived of educational opportunities every day, because of social, cultural and economic factors.


He assure the students both at home and diaspora to work with them from the grassroot level, JCC level to the Apex body to make education much affordable for all and be the voice to the voiceless.
