59th Independence : Adefisoye Foresees Greater Nigeria

I congratulate all Nigerians as our dear nation celebrates her 59th year of gaining independence from British colonial overlords, VAM reports.

I am not oblivious of the reality that an average Nigerian that may have been disillusioned with the situation of things in our country might not see any reason for celebration at this time. However, the fact of being one indivisible heterogenous country that cohabit in peace is a reason for celebration.

Meanwhile, I am an incurable optimist who firmly believe that there will definitely be a bright light at the end of Nigeria's dark tunnel. I am overly confident that our dear nation will sooner than later take her place of pride in the comity of nations.

My admonition to fellow country men and women is for us to take maximum advantage of our huge population and diversity. This is a God given strength that should catapult the nation to an enviable height; rather than the ill informed conception of diversity being our weakness.

In a statement released to VAM, Hon Tajudeen Adefisoye assure with all emphasis that the legislative arm of government which I belong will make optimum contributions to the collective quest of speeding up the transformation and development of Nigeria.

In the spirit of our 59th independence celebration, I once again warmly congratulate fellow country men and women on this milestone anniversary.
