National youth council of Nigeria (NYCN) discussed issues affecting Nigerian Youths and the general public at the youth house, Abuja's, today

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE NEC MEETING OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (NYCN), HELD AT THE YOUTH HOUSE, ABUJA, TODAY WEDNESDAY 24TH JULY 2019.

The National Youth Council Of Nigeria hitherto referred to NYCN or the Council  Headquarters, Abuja being  the apex body of all Youth groups in Nigeria, ranging from Faith Base Youth Organisations, Voluntry Youth groups, and Community Based Youth organizations. 

The Council is structured across the 36 states of the Federation including the FCT, and also across all Local Governments of the Federation. 

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), being a Non-Governmental, Non-Political, with voluntary service as her cardinal operation module guided by constitution and bonded by age (18-35years) as supervised by the Federal Ministry of Youth & Sports Development and replica Ministry across the States of the Federation.

The NEC in her usual manner had an emergency Congress on issues affecting Nigerian Youths and the general public at large.

The major issues that caught the attention of the Council most are as follows:

1. Insecurity: 

The Council frown vehemently at the high rate of kidnapping, murder, and unlawful killings of Nigerians on daily basis and implore  President Mohammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency on the security state of the Country with immediate effect. 

Furthermore, the Council condemn the inhumanity act of the El-ZakkyZakky movement, which left citizens of Abuja in agony of the lost of their loved ones, the Council urge the organization to change their approach and give peace a chance, while taking it upon herself to facilitate a dialogue meeting between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the leaders of the movement within the shortest period of time. 

While appealing to all youths across the Country to live in peace with one another. 

2. Fulani Herdsmen:

The Council again condemn in totality the activities of the Fulani Herdsmen most especially in the Southern region of the Country, urges the Federal Government to ban cattle rearing across all Nigerian roads, homes & villages to avoid further clash with the citizens. 

3. The National Honors Award :

The Council applaud the Federal Government for deeming it fit to honor notable Nigerians who has done excellently well in their various field of endeavours, most importantly, the Council appreciate the President Mohammadu Buhari for giving the Council 10 slots, this kind gesture has given the Council the necessary recognitions needed from various nominees. 


We also appeal to the office of the Secretary to the Federal Government to hold the event on the 31st August 2019 as earlier scheduled, as this event is long overdue. 

The Council wishes to seize this medium to unveil her nominees,  they are 

1. Mr. Alexander Nwuba (CEO, Smile Air) - Officer Of the Order of the Niger (OON) - Anambra State 

2. Mr. Nasir Saulawa - (Managing Director, Aquashield Oil & Marine)-  Member Of the Order Of the Niger (MON) - Taraba State.

3. Amb. Dr. Peter Dongo Isibor JP - CEO, Petterson Clor Int - Grand Commander Of the Niger (GCON)  - Delta State. 

4. Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe - CEO, Fasmicro Group Officer Of The Order Of The Federal Republic (OFR) - Abia State. 

5. Mr. Ayeni Funso - Head  Marketing, Nigeria Brewrey - Officer Of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) - Ekiti State 

6. Prince Onochie Onyaetenu - CEO Mafuta Energy Services - Officer of the Order Of the Niger (OON) - Rivers State. 

7. Prince Audu Johnson - CEO, Honeybrook Group -  Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) - Kogi State. 

8. Sen. Daisy Ehanire Danjuma - Member Of the Order of the Niger (MON) - Taraba State 

9. Dr. Francis Isokari - Head, Library & Archives NNPC - Member Of The Order Of the Niger (MON)  - Delta State

10. Dr. Jack Rich Tien - Owner, Belema Oil & Marine - Member Of The Federal Republic (MFR) - Rivers State. 

Furthermore, as the Council kick start the 2019 International Youth Day Celebration, all nominees of the National Honors Award are hereby implore to make a compulsory donation of #1,200,000 (One million, two hundred thousand Naira only), as the Council is raising the sum of #40,000,000 (Fourty Million Naira Only) as this Year's celebration will hold in 3 different States from 1st Of August to 19th Of August 2019.

We appeal to all our nominees to meet up with our above demands on or before the afore mentioned date. 

Finally, we urge all Nigerians to live peacefully with one another, regardless of our tribes, religions, ethnics and culture, as only a peaceful society can develop.
