UNIBEN students protest against strike by lecturers
Pharmacy students in University of Benin turned out en masse in the early hours of today, Tuesday 23rd of April 2019 in a peaceful match to Uniben maingate, Ugbowo Campus.
Pharmacy students of the university of Benin are currently angry due to the continuous strike by lecturers over the alleged unpaid allowances spanning 5 years.
VAM News confirmed that the protest witness the total shutdown of movements in and out of the school premises during the morning.
In a statement received by VAM News that during the peaceful protest was ongoing, some security personnel made frantic efforts to stop the newsmen from interviewing and recording the process and whole situation,, and this situation further Aggravated the students.
The students complained of having been sitting at home while other students from other departments and faculties received lectures...
From the interview Pharmacy students are supposed to be Inducting by Friday 26th of April 2019,, but won't be possible due to the strike.. And they sincerely beg the management of University of Benin to respond to their needs
Whichever is the case, the students have genuinely requested that the strike be called off and that the lost days be added for them in the calendar.
This request by the ever intellectual pharmacy students have been made in the calmest and most mature way.
