Prepare for mega strike, massive protest: Labour Unions tell Nigerians

Nigerians should be ready for a mega strike as organised labour in Nigeria, a coalition of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), and other groups have threatened to shut down the country.

This followed the decision of the National Assembly to remove minimum wage from the exclusive list. According to leaders of the Lagos chapter of TUC and NLC, there is no going back on the total opposition to the bill.

Speaking on the bill, Gbenga Ekundayo, state chairman of TUC urged the country to prepare because there will be a total strike and massive protest if the National Assembly fails to listen to them, VAM News gathers.
