Ondo Lawmaker, Mohammed Gives Back To Alma Mater
Hon.Taofik Oladele Mohammed, Ondo state lawmaker representing Akoko North West constituency 2 at the Ondo state House of Assembly/Chief Whip of the House was On Monday donated over 2000 pieces of concrete cement blocks to Ahmadiyya Grammar School in Ogbagi Akoko, Akoko North West constituency 2 area of Ondo state.
In a statement sent to VAM News by his Aide on new media, Akeem kayode Onibalusi, revealed that it was in fulfilment of his campaign promises to the electoral constituency during it's electioneering campaign.
Mohammed Said the gesture was to allow the children to learn In a conducive environment and for better protections
He said:"I will not build bridge where there is no river. We owe our people a solid education foundation by providing them with the basic facilities of learning.For any Country to move forward you need to think of education. Education should come first anytime.
"During the campaign, I went through several schools and I discovered areas that are deficient with dilapidated structures, among others.Less than two years, I'm fufilling my promises and am ready to do more, while I was making the pledge some said it was an unrealistic pledge but today everybody have seen it.This is just a tip of an iceberg Ahmadiyya Grammar School Is not just part of my constituency, it's my Alma mater", he said
Mohammed added that the passion for rapid growth and development of the constituency would remain Paramount to him.He promised to make similar donation to schools that have similar challenges across the constituency
The lawmaker,who urged the state government to improve education at all levels In the state, said his passion for quality education remained unflinching.The lawmaker however, commended Ondo state Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for his giant strides In the education sector of the state.
The lawmaker noted that the school was one of the earliest secondary school In the constituency commended the efforts and contributions of the teachers and said they had imparted much knowledge to the pupils.
"I agree absolutely that the teaching profession is the noblest, because it lays the foundation for whatever anyone wants to be In Life",he said.
Receiving the donating building material from the lawmaker,the principal of Ahmadiyya Grammar School,Mr yusuf thanked the lawmaker for the kind gesture,he said "anyone who engages In this kind of gesture knows the importance of education; education is the foundation for better tomorrow for children".
Mr yusuf however advises The State government to add more structures, deploy More teachers and provide learning kits.
The lawmaker was accompanied by party leaders and aides, well-wishers and supporters.
