Violence Mars Ondo Poly SUG Election, One Student Dead (Graphic Photo)

VAM News can authoritatively report that one student of the Ondo State Polytechnic now Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, RUGIPO, has been gunned down.

Reports from the institution have it that one person has been reportedly dead during Wednesday’s students union government election at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo.

One of the student of the polytechnic who spoke with this newspaper, confirmed that a student was shot.

"The person that was shot was a a guy, but we are yet to confirm his identity and I really do not think he is an indigene but a student", the source said.

VAM News further confirmed the death in a viral photo.

Another eyewitness told our correspondent that the identity of the deceased student can not be confirmed.

VAM News learnt that the student killed on the day of the election, Wednesday was shot off the school campus.

The polytechnic management is yet to issue any statement on the development as the school remain open as at press time.
