Osun: Oyetola Seeks Clerics' Prayers and Supports

 



The Governor of Osun State, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has inundated the religious leaders on the need to support the government with prayers.


This is even as he recounted the giant strides of this administration as evident in major sectors like health, education, infrastructure, Commerce, among others.


At the sensitization event held at some churches within Osogbo metropolis on Sunday, the Governor said prayers are needed for the sustenance of democratic dividends which the current administration is spurred to deliver to the good people of the state.


Oyetola who was represented by his Special Adviser on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye charged the clerics to assume their spiritual roles by supporting the efforts of Oyetola-led administration in curbing Covid-19 resurgence with ardent prayers.


He further reiterated the need for the spiritual leaders to continue instilling the Covid-19 guidelines such as use of nose mask, social distance and use of hand sanitizer in the mind of congregation, emphasizing that prayers against the disease should be complemented with obedience to Covid-19 protocols.


"The worship centres under the leadership of men of God are best places to launch fervent supplications in a bid to combat terrible disease like Covid-19 but strict adherence to rules guidelines are is imperative.


"As a government, we won't equally leave any stone unturned in ensuring the people of the state are aware of their responsibility in the fight against deadly pandemic", he added.


Speaking during the sensitization, the Minister in charge of St Michael Cherubim and Seraphim Church Headquarters Egbatedo Osogbo, Elder Apostle 0gunsusi J. O. commended the efforts of Oyetola led administration for the massive campaign against pandemic which by implication, is saving the lives of the citizens, while restated his support for the government as a body of Christ in the fight against Covid-19.


Equally, Pastor Samuel Adebayo of Christ Apostolic Church Palace of Prayer (Agbara Ajinde Wasibe), Kola Balogun  area of Osogbo, noted that the campaign against the pandemic by the government is for the sake of safety for all, while he noted that it's the responsibility of the people to maintain compliance.


In his remark, Pastor Samson Oluwarotimi Ojo of Christ Apostolic Church Agbara-Itura, Fagbewesa Osogbo appreciated the Oyetola's efforts in curbing the life - threatening disease, while he reiterated they would not relent in their support for the government.

As part of the government campaign, the Special Adviser on behalf of the Governor distributed hand sanitizers and nose masks as symbolic gifts, to all the churches visited.
