United Loses Top Spot: Sheffield United Makes History After Thrashing Manchester with their first win at Old Trafford since 1973

Manchester United may still be trying hard to believe the result of the last night's game which did not favour them at all as they are now down the table by one spot.

The game was an interesting one as Manchester United hosted the smaller club, Sheffield United at home but could not win the match. The visitors stunned their host by thrashing them in a surprising twist of event thereby somehow affecting Manchester United's title chase this season.

The first goal was scored by Kean Bryan after exploiting the error committed by David Da Gea. That was the opener in the clash. Not long after that, Harry Maguire equalized for his team and the game went on gamely as each side tried to outperform the other. Eventually, the two coaches made substitutions with a view to strengthening their teams to do better.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his rival Chris Wilder had their eyes on victory after making the substitution. As fate would have it, the game went in favour of Sheffield United as Oliver Bulke scored the winning goal for his team to seal their victory over Manchester United. That was how they stole the show off Ole Gunner's men last night as the match ended 2-1 in favour of Sheffield United.

Sheffield United made history with yesterday's win over Manchester United

The victory of Sheffield United calls for double celebration for them. This is because the club won the match and still made history. That victory was their first win at Old Trafford since 1973! Wow! It took them such a long time to achieve this feat. But it finally happened even when many people least expected it.

Little wonder why the club could not hide their excitement after achieving that feat. It took them almost 48 years to make that happen. Moreover, it happened this season- at a time when Manchester United is on fire and topping the Premier League table with their eyes on winning the league title. Sheffield United could not hide their great joy as they tweeted about it amid their uncommon celebration.

Now, Manchester United is one spot down the league table as another strong title contender, Manchester City go top of the table. The competition this season is getting stiffer and it is not very clear which club will win the league title. Another intriguing thing about this season is that smaller clubs are on fire too making good moves and beating bigger clubs.
