NANS Charges BEDC To Make Learning Conducive For Nigerian Students, Pledges Support To Company

The National Association of Nigerian students (NANS) Revolutionary President, Comrade Sunday Asefon, has pledged his continued support to BEDC to enable a suitable atmosphere and well conducive learning environment for Nigerian students.


The NANS Revolutionary President made the partnership decision on Friday in business unit office in Ajilosun, Ado Ekiti during meeting with BEDC.


Com. Sunday Asefon expressed his dissatisfaction over the long due blackout in the students area. He also lamented that many students have been victim of rape and molestation as a result of going out of their environment to have their phones and gadgets charged.  


The Revolutionary NANS president also explained that giving light is as giving life in the natural environs, noting that it is very pertinent that students is supplied with steady electricity so as to ease learning and make the campus environment conducive.  


He therefore urged, The BEDC to resuscitate the electricity around EKSU Environment because students are resuming back to school very soon as it may be. 


He commended the state governor,  Dr Kayode Fayemi on his swift responses to matters relating to the citizens of the state especially relating to the students. 


In attendance, the SUG President of Ekiti State University, Com Gbadero Habeeb Oluwaseyi explained that they have tried all they could do to make things right about the restoration of the electricity in the campus area, but all to no avail. 


In his remarks,  Mr Olukunle Ojo, the Business Manager of Ido Ekiti,  revealed  that, enumeration was done in 2016,  which is due for re- validation and also assured that revalidation will commence on Monday, so as to know the number of residents in the area to ensure the numbers of transformers needed in the Ekiti state university campus area. 


In another development, the NANS revolutionary president bewailed over the abandoned  transformer in Ilupeju Avenue residential area in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital. 


For the past six years in the residential area, stressing that Ilupeju avenue residents has been living in darkness. 


In his remarks, Mr Adewolu Ojo, the Business Manager  Ado Ekiti, applauded the active efforts of Com. Sunday Asefon and therefore, promised that the transformer especially in the Ilupeju avenue residential area would be energized in two weeks. 


He also revealed that the BEDC will rehabilitate all the electricity lines and weakened poles in Ekiti South Senatorial Districts.
