Shake up in Ondo assembly as 20 lawmakers impeach Iroju, elect new deputy speaker, others
Twenty lawmakers in Ondo state house of Assembly, signed the impeachment notice of the deputy speaker, Hon. Iroju Ogundeji, At the House plenary on Tuesday.
Iroju, who is representing Odigbo constituency 2 was impeached following the house resolutions led by the speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oloyelogun.
Meanwhile, the deputy speaker was immediately replaced by Hon. Aderoboye.
Iroju was impeached on the ground of gross misconduct which has brought disrepute the hallowed chamber.
Following the reconstitution of the House, Hon. Tomide Akinribido has been removed as the minority leader and replaced by Hon. Festus Akingbaso from PDP while Hon. Ogunmolasuyi is d new majority leader.
Hon.Taofeek Oladele is now the new chief whip in replacement of Adeyemi Olayemi.
In a related story, the state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu will present to the State House of Assembly 2021 budget on Friday.
