#EndSARS: 233,000 Candidates To Write Supplementary Exams As NECO announces Date (Subjects And States Here)

The National Examination Council (NECO) will conduct supplementary exams for 233,000 candidates that missed some papers during the 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) (internal) as a result of the #EndSARS protest which affected some parts of the country.
This was disclosed by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NECO, Prof. Godswill Obioma on Wednesday while speaking on the release of the 2020 SSCE results.
He disclosed that such affected candidates will be allowed to write the NECO SSCE (external) free of charge scheduled to hold between Monday 1st February 2021 and Wednesday 3rd March 2021.
The results of the affected candidates will be pending until supplementary examinations are written for the papers missed, VAM News understands.
The list of affected states as confirmed by the NECO Registrar are Abia, Enugu, Edo, River, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Lagos, Oyo, Kano, FCT, and Ogun States.
The affected subjects were listed as Chemistry practical, Economics, Technological Drawing, Food and Nutrition, and Further Mathematics.
In his words, “We wish to inform the general public that the Council has made specific arrangements for those candidates who missed some papers due to the #EndSARS protest in those states.
“The affected candidates will now sit for those papers missed during the forthcoming 2020 SSCE (external) scheduled from Monday 1st February 2021 to Wednesday 3rd March 2021.
“These special arrangements will be at no extra cost to these candidates. Upon the release of the 2020 SSCE internal results, those of the affected candidates will be pending for those papers missed and would be subsequently updated after the supplementary examination results are released.”
Meanwhile, candidates not affected by the supplementary examinations can now check their results on the NECO result checking portal.
