#EndSARS: Full list of states that have institute panels of inquiry so far

After several days of peaceful agitations by Nigerians youth that was later hijacked by thugs and ended up in violence demonstrations against police brutality in tge country, the Nigerian government recently accepted their 5for5 demands.


One of the concessions agreed by the government during the genuine #EndSARS protest was the setting up of judicial panels of inquiry by state governments into cases of alleged violations of human rights by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other police units.


VAM News gathered that 27 out of the 36 states and FCT(Abuja) have set up their judicial panels as directed by the federal government.


Below is a list of the states that have set up their panels:

6. Ogun


7. Lagos


8. Ondo


9. Edo


10. Delta


11. Bayelsa


12. Anambra


13. Bauchi


14. Gombe


15. Plateau


16 Adamawa


17. Taraba


18. Nasarawa


19. Enugu


20. Ebonyi


21. Benue


22 Cross River


23. Abia


24. Imo


25. Akwa Ibom


26. Rivers


27. Oyo state.


Meanwhile, a report by TheNation has indicated that there is a fresh threat of another round of protests following the #EndSARS demonstration which was later hijacked by hoodlums.


According to the report, the new development is a result of the freezing of the bank accounts of some of the prominent youths who participated in the #EndSARS protest.


The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had reportedly obtained an ex parte order obtained to freeze the accounts of 20 individuals and an organisation linked to the #EndSARS campaign.


However, the EndSARS protesters in Lagos state has been warned against carrying out further demonstrations.


In a statement on Friday, November 6, by the Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, the government urged the protesters to heed the warning of the police.


Omotosho said anyone with any grievance against the police force should approach the judicial panel of inquiry to state his or her case.
