#EndSARS protest: Police Reacts To Hoodlums Attack On Osun Governor’s Convoy
OSUN: The State Police Command has reacted to the attack on the convoy of the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola and damaged several government vehicles while addressing the ENDSARS Protesters on Saturday afternoon by suspected thugs.
Earlier VOICE AIR MEDIA reported that two persons were dead while several yet to be identified people were severely injured as many others flew for safely.
It was gathered that some victims have been rushed to Asubiaro state hospital in Osogbo for medical attention.
Before it was disrupted, Governor Gboyega Oyetola had assured the protesters that all those who sustained any form of injuries during #EndSARS protest will be taken care of by government.
He told the protesters that the presidency has directed all state governors to constitute judicial panel of inquiry to look into the SARS activities before it was disbanded.
Police react
While reacting to the incident, the Osun Police promised to investigate the alleged attack on the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola and why the protest took a violent dimension why the governor was addressing the protesters.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Osun State Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola said the Police were on top of the situation.
Meanwhile, Opalola could not confirm the casualties during the violent protest but said that the development would be investigated.
“The Police are on top of the situation. We will investigate it,” Opalola said.
