Students begin WASSCE across West Africa as Nigerian COVID-19 patient writes examination under observation(photos)

THE Candidates for 2020 West Africa Examination Council in Osun State today joined their counterparts across the west Africa Sub-region to write their first paper which is Mathematics.
VOICE AIR MEDIA gathered that the students arrived as early as 8 o’clock in the morning at various examination center in Osun state.
The candidates were provided with water, Soap and Sanitizers by the management of their various schools before allowed access to the examination hall.
This newspaper confirmed that COVID-19 protocols were strictly observed in the state.

The examination, which was earlier scheduled for April but postponed till this time because of the Coronavirus pandemic kicked off today in all the states of the federation and the federal capital territory.

The SS3 student in Gombe State who was infected with Covid-19, wrote his exams in isolation centre today.

It was gathered that the WAEC invigilator had full Personal protective equipment (PPE) to monitor the process.
A total of 1, 549,463 candidates, consisting of 786,421 males and 763,042 females from 19, 129 schools are expected to sit the exam nationwide. And the exercise, which will last five weeks covers 76 subjects from which each candidate is expected to write a maximum of eight or nine papers, the examination body reports.
