Juventus have reportedly contacted Mauricio Pochettino about taking over as boss, following the sacking of Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian has been relieved of his duties following the club's departure from the Champions League to Lyon.

Juventus beat the Ligue 1 club 2-1 at the Allianz Stadium last night in the second leg of their last 16 clash but Lyon's 1-0 victory in France was enough to see them through on away goals.

The result means Sarri leaves Juventus with just the Serie A title to his name.

It's his first major trophy in Italy but the club's ninth league title in a row was not enough to save his job.

The Bianconeri also lost the Coppa Italia final on penalties to his former side Napoli.

VOICE AIR MEDIA gathered that Sarri arrived at the club last summer following his departure from Chelsea, where he failed to win over critics despite a top-four finish and Europa League glory.

Now the 61-year-old has been handed his P45 and the club are on the lookout for a new manager ahead of the new season.

According to Italian outlet Sportitalia, Pochettino has already been contacted about the position.

Journalist Alfredo Pedulla claimed the club were already looking for a new coach but Sarri's sacking has now been confirmed.
