Enugu Airport reopens Sunday

All is set for official reopening of the rehabilitated Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu on Sunday.

Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, arrived the airport on a private aircraft at 14:47pm on Saturday to inspect the level of work.

He said the runways are good and ready to commence normal flight.

 

The airport was closed down in August, 2019 to enable government carry out repair work on the deteriorating runways and other facilities.

Taking some Enugu State government functionaries round the runway, Sirika said the airport was set for reopening.

He also said his flight was the first to land the airport since the repair work was concluded.

Business mogul, Arthur Eze, arrived the airport with the Minister.
