Brothers Across Nigeria (BAN) Osun state Chapter Joins The World In Celebrating 2020 World Breastfeeding Week
The World breastfeeding Week which was first celebrated in 1992 came up with the goal to promote exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life which yields many health benefits, providing critical nutrients, protection from deadly diseases such as pneumonia and fostering growth and development, it is an annual celebration which is held every year from 1st to 7th August.
In line with the theme of the World Breastfeeding Week 2020 "Support breastfeeding for a healthier planet", and celebrating the week 2020, a Non Governmental Organization BOTHERS ACCROSS NIGERIA (BAN) provided baby materials for numerous nursing mother in Osun state.
VOICE AIR MEDIA obtained that the event which took place on 3rd of August 2020 at Adeti Primary Health Center Ilesa.
The State President Mr. Jayeola Sunday (F4S) in his remark noted the value of breastfeeding for mothers as well as children. He noted the important of recommended exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life and then supplemented breastfeeding for at least one year and up to two years or more.
The provision of baby materials to nursing mothers is part of the humantarian activites of the BROTHER ACROSS NIGERIA aimed at betterment of the society.
We appreciate the kind gesture of the BAN for choosing our maternity Center out of the very many we have in Osun State , They are men of honour, Respectful and Responsible and we like to be seeing them around for this kind of things and We want more from the Society and Individuals. I pray for more money and God blessings on them.... Says the LRO of the Primary Health Center, Mrs AJEWOLE TOYIN.
