Wike makes U-turn, eulogizes President Buhari, begs President to come to Rivers State

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the release of N78.9 billion refund to the state government as he acknowledged that President Buhari is indeed President of all Nigerians.

The Rivers State Governor made the claim in a letter that was addressed to the President, following the release of a total sum of N78.9 billion that was used by the state government in the maintenance of Federal roads in the state.

It would be noted that the federal government at the third virtual Federal Executive Council meeting at the State House, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, following the presentation of a memo by the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, approved the release of the N78.9 billion refund to the Rivers State government.

However, despite the fact that Governor Wike has been known to always berate the Federal Government, he has penned President Muhammadu Buhari to pay Rivers state a visit in order to see what the state has accompanied for its people with the money.

Also in the letter, Governor Wike thanked the Vice President of the federation, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, as well as other members of the Federal Executive Council, for the support they provided to their request.

He then assured the Federal Government that the Rivers state government is willing and ever ready to partner with the Federal Government to advance the developmental aspirations of Rivers State in particular and Nigeria in general.
