2020: Why the party disqualified two Aspirants in Ondo – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) screening panel for the party’s primary election in Ondo State on Friday disqualified two of the nine aspirants jostling to clinch the party’s ticket for the October 10 governorship election.



The Yakubu Dogara-led screening panel declared the two candidates ineligible to partake in the party’s primary.










Dogara told Newsmen after the exercise, “Unfortunately, two of our aspirants did not pass the litmus test.”


According to a reports, from the Party’s National secretary however disclosed to Nigerian cable news that the two disqualified aspirants were screened out for both conflicting names on certificates and not been able to present voters’ card.










“I can confirm to you that one of the disqualified aspirants had completely different names on his certificates and the other one didn’t have a voters card.” The source said.


According to the source, one of the disqualified aspirants however returned to the screening Committee chairman with some money to bribe his way out but was politely turned down.










While Agboola Ajayi, Banji Okunomo, Eddy Olafeso, Boluwaji Kunlere, Bode Ayorinde, Sola Ebiseni and Eyitayo Jegede were cleared to contest. Godday Erewa and Akingboye were stepped down from the Party’s primary election.


Dogara however declared that the two are free to approach the appeal committee which sits on Monday to seek redress.
