NCDC releases COVID-19 result of Buhari aides that attended Abba Kyari's funeral

Following the death of the former Chief of Staff of the federation, Abba Kyari, attendees at the burial have been placed on isolation. The Federal Capital Territory Administration FCTA, has however announced today that they all tested negative and have been released to go home to reunite with their family members.

Dr Muhammed Kawu, acting Secretary Health and Human Services Secretariat in the FCT, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja made the disclosure that those that attended the burial ceremony have been released after completing their 14 days of isolation.

He said; “The Health and Human Services Secretariat of the FCT Administration is happy to announce that the individuals exposed during the burial of late Chief of staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari, have completed their 14 days of isolation. Tests were conducted on them and they have all tested negative to COVID 19. They have been reunited with their families”.

It would be recalled that Abba Kyari’s burial, which occured on April 18 at the Gudu Cemetery in Abuja, made several government officials violate the social distancing order of the federal government, thereby making it mandatory on them (government officials and journalists) to go on isolation for the period of 14 days.
