Eid-ul- Fitr 2020: APY National Convener Urges Nigerians To Be Patriotic

Every year, Muslims across the globe observe a month of daily fasting during Ramadan.

Ogunolu Samsideen Opeyemi, National Convener of the Assembly Of Progressive Youths, has urged Nigerians to be patriotic during and after the celebration of the ninth month of the Islamic calendar which involves abstaining from food, drink, smoking and sex between early morning and sunset.
Fasting - during Ramadan or for other reasons - is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, the others being faith, prayer, charity and the pilgrimage to Mecca, he said.
While rejoicing with the Muslims, Ogunolu feel grateful to Allah for 2020 that present an entirely different set of issues, as the coronavirus lockdown ban on religious gathering remains in place.
According to the Nigeria Centre For disease control(NCDC) that released the figures last night, 7526 patients have been infected while 221 have died. May Allah grant them quick recovery and forgive all the lost souls across the nation.
Ogunolu, charged Nigerians to focus their minds and bodies on spirituality rather than on earthly needs and indulgences.
