Doctors in Ondo protest, threaten to begin strike over Non-payment of Salaries amid COVID-19

Residents Doctors in Ondo state have threatened to go on strike indefinitely if the government fails to meet their demands about unpaid salary, VAM News has learnt.

 To press home their demands, the residents Doctors at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Akure have protested non payment of six months salary arreas by the state government.









The doctors have therefore issued a week ultimatum to the state government to pay their salaries.



In the current struggle, the doctors threatened to embark on an indefinite strike if the state government fails to meet their demand.



Armed with placards with various inscriptions, the doctors said they can no longer take care of their families


Speaking to newsmen one of the protesters, has frowned at the insensitivity of government to their plights.
