Visually Impaired persons write Nigerians, Government, cries for help during the lockdown period

Which way Nigeria!!!

As the COVID19 virus is spreading like a wide fire all over the world, countries have put in place measures to stop the further spread of the virus, lock up borders, restrain movement to avoid social gathering and also help their citizens by sending relief materials, food and money to help them stay in doors, but in my country, its the other way round. 

Which way Nigeria !!!

As a blind person writing this article under the ambit of the Advocacy Group for the visually impaired persons [AGVIP], a group saddled with the responsibility of advocating for people living with blindness, I have not read or heard anywhere in Nigeria where measures are put in place to help people living with blindness, the question now is which way for people living with blindness? How will they survive?

Multi- national companies, entertainers and philanthropist have donated a lot to fight against the pandemic but non has put in place any measure to help the people living with blindness. The blind persons in Nigeria are passing through untold hardship, starvation and imminent disaster which is caused by the restriction of movement which was imposed by Federal Government and various State Governments to prevent further spread of the virus in the Country. 

The visual impaired persons (blind persons) are restrained from engaging in their daily activities which they earn from.

The Advocacy group for the visually impaired persons [AGVIP] is urging the Federal government, multi- national companies, philanthropist and entertainers to come to the aid of people living with blindness in Nigeria during this crisis of COVID19 terrorising the globe. 

To save the blind persons from untold hardship, starvation and imminent disaster.
