Osun govt denies discharge of last COVID-19 patient

Osun State Government has denied rumours making the rounds that it has discharged the last COVID-19 patient in the State.

According to report, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu, made this known in a telephone conversation with newsmen on Wednesday.


When asking about the veracity of the rumours, Isamotu simply said “There’s no iota of truth in that story.”



He however promised to use the presence of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) officials in the State to correct the figures on Osun cases, the NCDC has daily reported a total number of 20 cases for Osun whereas the figures with the State Ministry of Health is 19.


Residents are however hopeful of when the State Government will announce the discharge of the last case as its seen as a prelude to relaxation of lockdown order.
