NANS @40: Symbol Of New NANS Says Association's Unity, Good Reason For Celebration

National association of Nigerian students (NANS) is today celebrating her 40th anniversary.


Asefon Sunday, the leading presidential candidate of the Apex body, says that Nigerian students deserve to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the association because the people have remained united, in spite of the daunting challenges that have threatened its unity.


Asefon sunday, the lead compatriots of the symbol of the New NANS representing the populace of Nigerian students both home and diaspora, said that Nigerian students should celebrate the unity of the apex body, stressing that over 200 millions ethnic students had remained united.
         

Asefon in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday maintained that the long years of existence of the association had been the bane of student's progress democratically.


He said that NANS would continue to deliver good representation and interest of the Nigerian students for the continued progress of the students, pointing out that in the last years of NANS administration, the association had fared better, considering the level of oppression issues in the country.




He stated that the Symbol of New NANS has vowed to give optimal services through various social intervention programmes undertaken to improve the living standards of Nigerian students if given opportunity to serve them as the next servant NANS 01.


The former NANS Zonal coordinator of South west, Asefon Sunday used the medium to appreciate stakeholders, Senators, Comr. Danielson Bamidele Akpan GCNS (Incumbent President of NANS) and Nigerian students wishing them the best during the anniversary.


He reinstated his determination to improve students welfarism and leave a lasting legacy, even as he charged the people for their cooperation, urging them to embrace peace, shun violence, live in harmony with fellow students for a better NANS of our dream and choice.



“It is the desire to serve that has compelled me to be the number 1 servant(hopeful) of the association by 2020 convention and I would continue to make myself available and accessible to students.


“We thank God for giving us good health to celebrate our independence as a body and we know that there would be better tomorrow for all of us and the future of this NANS would remain bright if we are committed to take the future in our hands and contribute to the progress as a student irrespective of ethnic and religious differences,” he said.
