Army Apologises To Journalist Brutalised By Personnel in Ondo

Following the intervention of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ondo state chapter and her sister union, the Radio Television Theatre and Art Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), the Army authorities has sent a delegation to apologise to ‘brutalised’ staff of NTA, Akure, Jide Bello.
A statement by the NUJ Secretary, Leke Adegbite said the Army officials at the Owena Barracks through the management of the station (NTA Akure) also visited Mr Bello at the hospital where he is being treated.
The Army Public Relations Officer in Ondo state, Captain Omojokun also sent apologies to all media practitioners in the state, adding that such ugly incident will not happen again.
“All our demands in the NUJ press statement will be addressed accordingly.
“leadership of our sister union, RATTAWU had called this morning to express appreciation to NUJ and its members for our solidarity over the attack on Engr Jide Bello,” the statement read.
