Court Adjourns case of Prophet Alfa Babatunde's trail over missing boy in Ondo Church

THE High Court sitting in Akure, Ondo state as prosecuting counsel and state Attorney General, Kola Olawoye (SAN) sought the adjourned of the case involving the founder of Sotitobire Miracle center, Akure, Prophet Babatunde Alfa and six other members of the church till June, 2020 for further hearing, Voiceairmedia has gathered.


SunshineTruth obtained that the request by the AG who is also the State Commissioner for Justice, made the defendants and family members to be apprehensive inside the court.


Olawoye made the request as a result of an appeal filed by the defence Counsel at Appeal Court against the refusal of the high court to grant the defendants bail during the February 2, 2020 sitting.


The AG and the Prophet’s Counsel, Olusola Oke later agreed that the appeal should be withdrawn from the appeal court to enable the trial to continue.


Similarly today, the High Court today refused to hear bail application of the founder of Sotitobire Miracle center, Akure, Prophet Babatunde Alfa and six other members of the church.


The defendants are facing trial over the alleged missing of one year old boy, Gold Kolawole inside the church on 10 November, 2019.


Justice Olusegun Odusola held that there was no need to entertain bail application by the defendants’ counsel, Olusala Oke, noting that the court would ensure accelerated hearing of the suit.


During the hearing, two witnesses testified against the founder of Sotitobire miracle center Akure, Prophet Babatunde Alfa and six others before the ondo state high court over his involvement in the missing one year old boy.


The two witnesses were part of the seven witnesses expected to be presented by the prosecuting counsels who have opened their case against the prophet.


This followed the decision of the court not to entertain bail application by the defendants counsels but to ensure accelerated hearing of the suit.


Armed Security men had beefed up security at The Ondo state high court premises following the continuation of the case involving the founder of Sotitobire Miracle center ,prophet Babatunde Alfa and six others over the missing of a one year old boy inside his church last year.


SUNSHINETRUTH learnt that the security men who manned strategic locations within and outside the court allowed only those who have official business to gain entrance.


The big court road is filled with residents of akure who hanged on the fence to watch as event unfolds in the court.


Prophet Babatunde alongside other defendants were escorted into the court premises by Officials of the Nigeria correctional service at exactly 9:08 am inside a bus while the hearing of bail application of the prophet started around half past 9am in the morning.



The prophet has been returned to Olokuta Prisons.



The case has been adjourned till Thursday this week for further hearing.
