By Bright Olorungbotemi
The National Association of Nigerian Students {NANS} South West Zone, under the leadership of Comrade Kappo Olawale Samuel, has congratulate an Osun State Secondary School student named Akintade Abdulahi who emerged as the Champion of the recent organized Young Nigerian Scientist Presidential Award organized by the Federal Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technology, Abuja, Voiceairmedia reports.
The Deputy Coordinator NANS Zone D in a statement signed, illustrates that Abdullah became the champion as he edges out 773 contestants across all Local Governments in Nigeria in the National Examination of which have 774 contestants alongside the Champion, Abdullahi.
This congratulatory and appreciation statement is not limited to Abdullahi's success only but also extended to the school by which Abdullahi serves as a student.
This notable win of Abdullah under the supervision of school will therefore boost the rank and image of the school amidst others of which will also trigger the teachers of the school to teach their students efficiently and effectively as they would all be proud of the students that came out excellently and the winner in any aforementioned organized competition.
It will also stimulate the learning interest and morale of the students in the same school with Abdulahi and around because the co-students would also look up to attaining the kind of feat Abdulahi has been able to achieve, as the win is an exemplary success to his colleagues and students from across all local governments in Nigeria.
Furthermore, the National Association of Nigerian Student South West Zone (NANS Zone D) encouraged all other contestants that by one way or the other couldn't make it to the Champion level never to relent in their academics and to study more because there would be several types of competition that would be coming up in South Western States.
In the same vein, NANS Zone D is also seeking the indulgence of the South Western Region Governors to declare a State of Emergency in the Educational Sector. The essence for the declaration is for the government at all levels to look promptly into educational sector without procrastinating so as to take a preservative and preventive measure towards Educational disaster that might have occurred or may be imminent that is severe enough to require State aid to supplement local resources in preventing or alleviating damages, loss, hardship or suffering in Education.
Declaration for the state of emergency is needed so as to have the best of education and for government at all levels to pay more attention to Education in the state and nation at large.
All necessary steps should be taken in paying more attention to education and also ensure if not all, to a reasonable length, secondary school students across the country should be able to enjoy the right to education without any discriminatory form as we say “Education is our Right and not a Privileged”.
In a letter E-signed by Comrade OLADIMEJI UTHMAN ”DAN FODIO”
DEPUTY COORDINATOR, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS), SOUTH WEST ZONE (NANS ZONE D), Conclusively, this should also serves as a motive not to drive the South West region Governors alone as the tentacles is expected to get to the Federal and State Governments of Nigeria entirely, as this initiative would therefore stimulates the interest of students in studying more and making more remarkable and notable success in the nearest future.
Until all are Freed,
All remain Slaves.
