Zakat Foundation Conducts Free Medical Test To 500 People On Killer Diseases In Osun

An Islamic Non-Governmental Organization, Zakat and Sadaqah Foundation has conducted free medical test to 500 people including the elderly, women, youths and children, VAM News reports.

The medical test which took place In Telemu town in Osun state on Sunday witnessed lot of people who were majorly screened for Malaria endemic, HIV, skin diseases, blood sugar among others.

The foundation also distributed drugs as well as clothes to indigent persons.

In an interview with the Osun State Administrative Officer of the Foundation, Mallam Moshood Olaoye said the medical outreach is in line with the vision to ensure better living standard and ensuring healthy life for the people.

He stated the importance of enlightens people about their health and why they must care about their health, pointing our that only people with good health can be productive in society.

According to him," We look into the country and we see so many things that are wrong. Poverty level is increasing everyday, the crime rate is increasing everyday, our intention is to reduce poverty and crime rate through the Foundation. "

In his remarks, the Head, Medical Team, Dr W. Seriki lauded the Foundation for conducting the medical test and urged philanthropists and well meaning people to partner the Foundation in its efforts to alleviate suffering in the country.

One of the patients, Adekunke Abibat said the program is very good and appealed for the continuation of the program.
