"Grow don't blow"- EFCC warns Nigerian youths against easy wealth during NYSC one million walk against corruption

THE Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) Port Harcourt Zonal Head, Usman Imam has warned youths to stay away from all acts of criminality and easy Money on Monday, Voice air media reports.


After the Ten million man walk against corruption organised by the EFCC and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Usman declared that young people must be advocates of the fight against corruption because their future depends on it.
“The future that the Nigerian youth deserves is not going to be secured through corruption and engagement in acts of criminality such as cyber crime, advanced fee fraud and money laundering.

They can secure a blissful future through pursuit of legitimate businesses and vocations.


“The youths should stay away from looking for easy money through internet fraud, cyber crime and 419 instead they should embrace hardwork and find ways to make it as a society.” He said.


The State coordinator, NYSC, Rivers State, Mr Chinwendu Chukwu represented by Assistant Director, Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Mrs. Agulue Okoye reminded corps members that they are change agents that are expected to trigger change in any part of the country where they are found.

Meanwhile, group of corps members in Enugu state and the Governor of the state, Gov. Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuayi also participated in a walk against corruption led by the FRSC CDS group.



Comrade Melodi Adeola who spoke with correspondent after the walk, said Nigerian should be conscious that we can change a corrupt system only through our unity and speaking with one voice to condemn outrightly the cankerworm that has eaten deep into our unity and modern development.


 
Without strong watchdog institutions, impunity becomes the very foundation upon which systems of corruption are built. And if impunity is not demolished, all efforts to bring an end to corruption are in vain.



We are all involve. We will never get tired of demanding true progress and development for our esteemed nation. We March today to avoid running tomorrow. Viva solidarity greater Nigeria is achievable!, he said.
