Ditto, our earlier statement on the Western Nigeria Security Outfit - Operation Amotekun billed to be launched on Thursday 9th January, 2020 at Ibadan where we noted the importance of the initiative and earmarked it as a move in the right direction to instigate a secured future for the region.

The Operation which was launched at Oyo State Governor's Office, State Secretariat Agodi Ibadan with 120 red colored Amotekun vehicle to tackle the security challenge of kidnapping and killings in the South West Region of the Nation will go a long to way to further safeguard the region.

The Joint Operation of trained security agent, vigilante groups, agebekoya farmers and the OPC codenamed as Amotekun will complement the existing security measures.

We charge the Security Outfit to work hand in hand with the already existing Security Agencies to bring sanity to our environment and clear out all criminals with the aim of frustrating the development of the South West region through banditry.

In a statement signed by Com. Kappo Samuel Olawale, Coordinator and  Com. Olatunji Nurudeen Ishola, Publics Relation Officer (PRO), NANS ZONE D commend the Southwest Governors for implementing the initiative as conceived and charge them to ensure they sustain the Security Outfit through adequate provisions for them. We specifically commend the Chairman of the Western Nigeria Governor Forum Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu SAN for overseeing this progressive initiative for the betterment of our region.

The Students Wing as part of her commitment to National Development will further look at partnering with the Security Outfit in areas of intelligence and information gathering for the success of the operation.
