UNIZIK Wins Southeast University Female Championship, 11 medals in the All University Games

Two teams from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has once again made the Varsity proud and command a golden ovation at the Southeast University female championship and the All University Games.

The first team, Dr. Chinyere Esimone female team won the trophy and brought home the cup; in a keenly contested championship which held at Alex Ekwueme University, Ebonyi State.

The second team contested in 8 different categories at the All University Games, Benin, Edo State. They won 2 silver medals, 2 bronze and 7 consolation prizes, which sum to a total of 11 prizes clinched by the University during the competition.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Esimone extolled the team and urge them to always fly high the brand of the University.

He gifted them with a sum of N100,000 and promised to do more when the management team of the institution meets.

"This kind of feat is not very common, i want to return the Glory to God" the VC said.

The head of the team, Prof. Oby Cordelia Okonkwor thanked the VC for receiving them and pledged her commitment towards the project200 and how the University sports Commission will continue to work tirelessly to bring home more trophies.
