Straight to the business of the day.

Why the adoption of technology in our security system...

The adoption of technology in Nigeria security system will aid the current technology in place which I can refer to as AGEING TECHNOLOGY.

We all know that we have the modern day technology and the olden days technology.

As day breaks, technology keeps improving.

Adoption of modern day technology to cub illegal activities here and there is what our government at level needs to put in place for the development of the country and the citizens.

The adoption will help in fighting crimes which is labeling the country as a bad place for all day in day out.

The lives and properties of the citizens will be safe.

[We have 3major types of crimes]

•Common crimes 

•Cyber crimes

•Property crimes 

Under this common crimes, a typical example where I shall first discuss on is ARMED ROBBERY.

Let's take a look at the way robbery operations has been taking place in our banks these days.

The rampant cases of striking and killing innocent citizens and security operatives which is crowned by carting away of billions of naira from the bank.

Aside the present day security systems that we have in banks such as;

•CCTV camera,&

•Bullet proof door

The modern day technology used in other developed countries is yet to begin operation in our dear country due to reasons best know to people in charge

Most of this CCTV are not even functioning well.

And the bullet proof door of a thing are easier to destroy.

If for instance, FINGER PRINT TECHNOLOGY is adopted into our banking system, I am very sure that the cases of rampant robbery and murder of innocents will reduce drastically.

Usage of helicopters and armored Van.

I have watched series of documentaries showing how armed robbers are being chased with the aid of helicopters, they take the land route to escape but the securitu operatives gave a Chase both on land and air, in the end they were captured.

If our government can sacrifice the purchase of helicopters for trained security operatives to be in use whenever a robbery section is being notified, the rate will reduce drastically

The usage of helicopter isn't limited to armed robbery scene alone.

Under common crimes, another major criminal cases Is kidnapping.

This kidnappers make use of the earth of the forest and sometimes uncompleted building as their hideous.

Sometimes in 2014, the helicopter purchased for security in Osun, I was privileged to attend most of the APC rallies.

The Ilesa rally then show the beauty of helicopter usage as tool in fishing out assailants.

This Osun helicopter after rounding the whole city for security purposes, it suddenly stopped at a spot closer to where we stayed and there's a red light under neat blinking repeatedly on  the spot without the movement of the helicopter.

It was later gathered that the blinking of the red light indicated something unusual Going on in the area, lo and behold the mobile police force at the campaign ground that very day arrested about 5people from that spot who happens to be something something.

What I wish to bring out from there is that, IF NOT FOR THE AVAILABILITY OF THAT HELICOPTER THAT VERY DAY, WE MIGHT HAVE RECORDED CASUALTIES BECAUSE THE ASSALIANTS TARGET WAS THE PARTY MEMBERS.

Long before sooka in Ibadan was discovered.

Nobody could say this was the number of innocent people tbsoe kidnappers than had killed.

If we have helicopters that works on patrol genuinely, the could have discovered the hideout long ago before God put those kidnappers to shame

Away from this...

Let's go back to the real usage of CCTV

Kidnapping will occur from highway before the perpetrators head for their hideout.

If CCTV are installed on our highways with proper monitoring and follow up.

All this daily kidnapping will reduce.

Thou, CCTV might not circulate round the country, but if installed in strategic places which captures the inward and outward movement of an individual.

There will be swift actions from security operatives if anything suspicious takes place.

Under common crimes, virtually everything happening in our country is listed there;

•Murder 

•Rape

•Man slaughter 

•Suicide 

•Embezzlement 

•Battery

•Forgery, etc.

Let's come to murder case

Someone was arrested on the suspicion that he killed a fellow citizen.

Thou All evidences leads to him that he is the murderer.

Sometimes, our security operatives act on evidences available without seeking external measure, the application of Modern technology.

If to establish the truth as to whether the suspect is the real criminal or not, the following needs to take place 

1... Postmortem to ascertain the nature of death

2... Before the Postmortem, the body must be critically examined for any fingerprint which might likely be a lead to the killer.

The above are only visible in Nigerian movies not in real life.

The actresses and actors are busy sending strong messages to the government daily, but they choose to ignore for reasons best known to them.

There are hundreds of people in prison yards suffering for cases they are innocent of but wrongly convicted when all available evidence pointed to him.

Let's take a look at our security operatives.

Aside the EFCC and DSS officials whose job are not that strictly defending of our border against external attack.

See the kind rifle our Nigerian Army are using

See the kind armored tank they are making use of..

See the kind bullet proof vest they are wearing 

They make use of Ak47 rifles to fight terrorist with sophisticated weapons and other detonatives.

Everything mentioned above are not substantial enough to counter terrorism...

That's why we sent thousands to war zone, only few will return.

If we have adopted the modern day technology in fighting the terrorist at all levels, we would record less number of causlities..

The usage of drones, explosives of high qualities, rifles and other protective wears would have saved more lives in the past

Of what benefits will ADOPTION OF TECHNOLOGY IN OUR SECURITY to us❓❓

1... It will save the government the stress of asking for External help in countering any security issues and spending unnecessary 

2... It will safe the face of the country among its members in the world

3... Citizens of our country will be highly regarded everywhere they find themselves 

4.. There will be no insecurity in the country 

5.. Members of the community will have trust in one another, etc

How can the adoption be make a reality ❓

1... The government of Nigeria should accept the task of providing adequate security for the lives and properties of her citizen 

2.. The government will need to hire experts in the field and provide them with necessary tools needed 

3... Their visitation to other developed countries in the world should be an eye opener for them on how lives and properties are well secured there... Thou security issues happens everywhere in the world.

4... Citizens needs to help the government too in areas needed 

5... The security agencies should as well work with honesty and be well oriented, etc.

Finally, With the adoption of modern technology in our security system, the crime rate in the country will reduce because, all citizens will be aware of technology in place and know that their will be no hidden place for them to hide.

What development will the adoption bring to the country.

1... Reduction in unemployment rate

2.. Just and egalitarian society 

3... Respect for the laws of the land

4... Respect for constituted authorities 

5.. Self discipline, etc

My request;

       "I call on the present day government to step up their game on all plans they have for modern securities in the country which will put an end to every tussle that arouse day in day out in every parts of the country."

     

May their mission and vision be easier for them to accomplish.

On this note, I say ADOPTION OF TECHNOLOGY IN OUR SECURITY SYSTEM is the best medium in putting an end to insecurity in our country.
