Ondo Rep member Gives N2m Grants To Hundreds of Constituents

Honorable Adefisoye Tajudeen popularly known as Small Alhaji representing Idanre/Ifedore constituency of Ondo state has put smile in the face of not less than hundreds of his constituents member in respective of party affiliations in the local government through Community Grants on Sunday, 8th December in Idanre, Ondo state, VAM News reports.

Hundreds of petty traders in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State received what could be described as Christmas gifts as Rep. Tajudeen Adefisoye gave them Community Grant. 

The event which is the very first of its kind by any politician in Ondo State was held on Sunday at the Idanre constituency office of the federal lawmaker. 

The Community Grant Disbursement which is a quarterly support for traders across the two Local Government Areas that make Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency kicked off in Idanre. 

The event was witnessed by leading traditional rulers in Idanre, State Executive members of Social Democratic Party (SDP) and thousands of party members and supporters of the Idanre born federal lawmakers. 

In attendance at the grant disbursement was the Owa of Idanre, Oba Fredrick Aroloye and the Aladeokun of Alade-Idanre, Oba Olusegun Akinbola. 

Also in attendance was the Awosuye of Atoshin, Oba Gabriel Ogunlowo and leaders of thoughts and opinions. 

More than 150 constituents from Idanre alone benefitted from the grant. 

Each of the beneficiaries received cash of #15,000, with a promise of higher grant during the next disbursement. It was however, explained by Rep. Adefisoye that the initial plan was to give grant of #20,000 each to 100 beneficiaries; but the large number of people that showed interest in the scheme necessitated the need to reduce the amount to #15,000 in order to accommodate more than the initial 100 beneficiaries.   

Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the Community Grant were full of praises for Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye for not reneging on his electoral promise of providing a better alternative to all types of soft loans that come with cut throat interest rates.

In the remark of Adefisoye, he said, "This is the beginning of better things for the good people of Idanre. This is not a repayable loan but a grant for our traders. But, I will insist that this grant must be channelled into your businesses. I can assure you that all traders that make judicious use of this grant will definitely get a higher one in the first quarter of year 2020".  

"I can also assure that what we have captured in the 2020 budget alone for our people is far more than what have been done in the last 18 years. All round developments will soon be witnessed in Idanre. There is an assurance that failed roads in Idanre will be reconstructed and potable water will soon become available for the use of our people, particularly the rural dwellers. 

Arrangements are already in top gear to construct a mini stadium in Idanre to provide an avenue for our talented footballers to develop their footballing talents for the purpose of professional career abroad", added Adefisoye.
