Group raises alarm over plan to kill Sowore, issues ultimatum
Ondo South Advancement and Welfare Consultative Forum ( OSAWA), Tuesday in Okitipupa, accused the Federal Government of Nigeria of planning to kill the Publisher of Sahara Reporters and the Convener of #Revolutionnow protest, Omoyele Sowore, in prison custody.
Sowore, DSSStarnews reports that the Federal Government is facing immense criticism over the re-arrest and continued detention of Sowore over treason charges by the Department of State Security (DSS), since August 3, 2019, despite two court orders granting him bail.
In a statement by the group spokesman, Ogungbemi Adeyemi, the group condemned the continued detention of Sowore and called for his unconditional release.
”We write to condemn the dastard and gangsteric act displayed by the men of the State Security Service (DSS) at the courtroom some days ago to re-arrest Omoyele Sowore”.
”We want to put the whole world in the know that there are plans to kill our son. We are not unaware of the perfected plan to silence our son, Omoyele Sowore, in a well-orchestrated sinister coup allegation following the barrage of falsehood peddled by the Nigerian government and DSS against him.”
”We, the citizens of Ondo South ask for the unconditional release of our son, Omoyele Sowore, who had been granted bail by the court, but was abducted by the DSS in a gestapo way inside the courtroom.”
”We give the DSS a – 14 day ultimatum to tow the path of honour by releasing our son immediately, or else, they will face the wraths of the land”, the group said.
