BEING THE REPORT OF NAPS NATIONAL UNITY CONVENTION HELD AT BENIN CITY EDO STATE ON 30TH NOVEMBER, 2019

PREAMBLE: Owing to the fact that there are two incumbent leadership of NAPS one led by Mohammed Eneji of Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja and Mohammed Alhassan of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi. The intervention of stakeholders saw to the harmonisation of both factions to produced Convention Planing Committee for Unity Convention.

The unity Convention planing Committee chaired by Fawale Oluwole Jacob and Deputise by Salaudeen A Lukman after rigourous process agreed to hold National Unity Convention at Edo State Polytechnic Usein, Edo State between 28th Nov and 1st November 2019.

Observations:
The CPC chairman and some members boycoted the official venue of the convention (Edo State Polytechnic Usein) and Mobilise some thugs to impersonate student in a political rally in Benin City declaring support for Gov Godwin Obaseki for his second term bid and condemning the activities and actions of Comr Adams Oshiomole APC National Chairman on Edo politics.

Its very unfortunate that primary objective and purpose of student convergence in Edo state was jettison and abandoned for selfish and pecuniary gain by those entrusted with responsibility to conduct election for new executive to emerge.

Its remain worrisome that suppose independent student body is being used for polical jamboree and undeu interference in political crisis that does not have any bearing on student affairs.

The senators numbering 37 including the Chairman of Departmental Presidents Forum Edo State Polytechnic Usein, Comr. Oguntola Sunday who Represent the SUG of host institution and other members of the committee including Vice Chairman of the CPC who were at Edo State Polytechnic USEIN Ealier, the official venue of convention was informed by the security of the school that they have no information of such hence they are unaware of NAPS Convention.

This informed the mobilisation of the delegates to Benin City where the other CPC members and CPC chairman are doing the endorsement rally for Governor Obaseki.

Upon realisation of the fact that the priority of CPC chairman and his team was to stage political rally as they were obviously more committed to the political Jamboree than any convention, the vice chairman and other CPC members led the delegates mobilised from Edo State Polytechnic to Ohoba Primary School  Benin City to commence the election process.

37 senators was accredited and election of convention chairman followed.

Comr Abdulmajeed Oyeniyi emerged unopposed as Convention Chairman 2019 National Convention and Option A4 style (Line Up Behind Your Candidate) was adopted for the election for Transperency and credibility purpose.
