Gentlemen of the Press.
The leadership of NAPS applaud the Federal Government of Nigeria on her strife to battle insurgence, corruption and insecurity in the country, we hereby charge the FG to put in more effort in ensuring a better Nigeria, VAM News reports.
The leadership of NAPS frowns at the low percentage of the budgetary allocation to Education, NAPS hereby advice Government both at the Federal and State level to brace up on education in Nigeria, Nigeria is blessed with a massive population and so education must be encouraged at all level, we charge the Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari to give more priority to education in Nigeria by dancing to UNESCO tone of 26% allocation at all level, it will enhance the proper funding of our educational system and in no time, we would have world class institutions where research work will be done.
NAPS wishes to urge the FGN to meet up with NLC demand with respect to minimum wage.
The leadership of NAPS hail Oyo and Ogun state governments for encouraging free education and leading by example for others to follow.
NAPS also commend the leadership skills of the executive Governor of Kaduna state Mallam Nasir El-rufai by enrolling his biological son in a government own primary school within the state, it's certain that such school and the likes would have visible intervention of the state government, the Governor's giant stride in meeting up with NLC's demand with respect to minimum wage is second to none.NAPS hereby challenge other Governors to follow suit.
NAPS passed vote of confidence on the Governor of Ogun state for the rejection of hike in tuition fee in the State own institutions despite having the highest number of state owned Polytechnics in Nigeria, NAPS equally commend the gallantry and maturity displayed by the management of DS Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic Itori, Ogun state, in averting crisis on campus by reversing the proposed increment in tuition fee and maintaining the status-quo, NAPS do hereby exonerate the entire management of the institution led by the honorable Rector Prof. Alfred Fatade from all manner of ill-fated allegations leveled against him.
NAPS advice heads of institutions to desist from the act of increasing tuition fee unjustly as these has been the major factor responsible for the alarming rate of drop-out students from tertiary institutions.
NAPS also welcome the newly appointed Rector of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Ondo State, Mr Ogunhahunsi Gani Adebola, we are hopeful that your stay in office will usher in laudable ideologies and landmark achievements in the institution.
NAPS equally charge the National Board for Tertiary Education (NBTE) to intensify efforts in the inclusion of Psychometric Education into the Polytechnic curriculum as a matter of urgency with a regulated fee,NAPS hereby encourage the need to orient students on these proposed course, same way Entrepreneurship Education was encouraged and widely accepted.
