International Youth day- It is time to explore the giant in us- NANS Zone C PRO

The National Association of Nigerian Students Zone C, Public Relations Officer, Comr. Adebayo Kayode J. In a press statement issued in Abuja to VAM News media to commemorate the international Youth day said "It is high time to explore the giant in us as youth and future of this country".

Without gainsaying our country is combated with series of challenges which made it seems there is nothing good that can come out of our Nazareth.

At this juncture, I implore the teeming Nigerian Youths/Students to harness their inherent abilities to tactically solve the problem bedeviling us as a country.

The fact is that we have what it takes to set this country on the path of prosperity, where yesteryears landmark achievement of our fore heroes will no longer be gratified.

To the government, there is imperative need in recognition of the youth particiapation in governance beyond aphorism and paperwork. Young people face many challenges and problems particular to them and while young people aspire to full participation in the life of society, their voices tend to be maginalised. It is essential that youths be given a role and a voice in seeking to address the challenges. Young people in all countries are both a major human resource for development and key agents for social change, economic development and innovation.

By enabling more effective participation of young people, we can benefit from their energy, idealism, unique perspectives and innovative and creative ideas. Youths are experts on the issues that affect them and as such are integral to achieving effective and enduring solutions. Via empowering young people to participate more fully in society and decision making, they become engaged as partners in shaping the world they will inherit and pass on to future generations.
