ShopRite, DSTV, MTN and other South Africa owned companies shut down in Ilorin metropolis over Xenophobic attack in South Africa
The leadership of the National association of Nigerian Students, Kwara axis yesterday resorted to the last Cs of Aluta after other means have been legally exhausted by storming the streets in numbers and locked some notable South Africa owned companies in Ilorin metropolis over the dreaded incessant Xenophobic attack on Nigerian students schooling in South Africa and other peace loving and law abiding Nigerians over there.
It's no more a news on how Nigerians in South Africa are victims to such tragic occurrence and as well being treated not only as "outsiders" but as none significant humans, this has gotten to a state where the student body can no longer fold it arms and watch a country destroy the future of ours in the name of Xenophobia, these victims and targets are law abiding people who contribute largely to the socio-economic and political growth of their host country, why on earth will such country who should be grateful haunt and hound down our citizens for no tangible reasons.
The affected government of Federal republic of Nigeria are showing no reasonable concern same as the host country, then we took it upon ourselves as lovers of our brothers to take reasonable actions on such madness melted upon Nigerians in South Africa, we stormed the 3 main big companies, offices and mall (ShopRite along Fate Road, the Ibrahim Taiwo Road DSTV Office and MTN Office) owned by South Africa in the Kwara capital city of Ilorin and locked it down till the ingrate South Africans come to their senses of accommodating others despite the differences.
The management teams of those companies attended to the Leaders of the association and tried their possible best to resolving our grievances which was even met with a stiffer resistance, it took the intervention of the security agencies to quench the brouhaha. The CP of Kwara State and other subordinate officers of the police command played an important role in maintaining peace and orderliness then ensured the peaceful agitation wasn't hijacked by hoodlums to perpetuate their intended evils, the student Leaders and the entire Kwara students are please with their unbias approach in handling the situation, we hope the police would always see the students bodies as partners in progress and not otherwise.
After hours of deliberations, talks and meetings, the Chairman of the Association Comrade Adebayo Saheed Olosasa addressed the aggrieved students, commended their resilience and act of patriotism and pleaded to everyone of them to maintain highest level of decorum and return back to their various campuses as things should be handled accordingly since the message has strongly been passed.
