He said, president Muhammadu Buhari led administration contributed sparingly to the educational sector of Nigeria during his first four years, various challenges bedeviled the sector during his first tenure.

That our country is facing numerous challenges in education and all other sectors as a result of historical abuses, mindless impunity and corruption is not news to anyone.

It is clamorous that the educational system due to an unwholesome combination of neglect and mismanagement, which has fallen over the years into squalid state of disrepair.
Throughout the world, the teaching profession is considered the most important jobs that could be, in Nigeria, teachers are about the most indigent, most derided lot in the polity.

This disdaining state of education in Nigeria calls for urgent action,  because the threat of discontinuation is even more terrifying for Nigeria. The misplacement of priorities, the veneration of mediocrity, has pushed the country to the edge of precipice. Something must now be done or, in the future, pundits will be trying to understand how Nigeria became, to use the words of Wole Soyinka, "at best, yet another failed state, (and) at worst an overcrowded necropolis where the hope of the future lies interred in unmarked graves".

Disconsolately, Nigeria's education sector has been allocated much lower than the 26 percent of national budget recommended by the united Nations.
The global organisation recommended the budgetary benchmark to enable nations adequately cater for the rising education demands.

There is exigency need of allotting sufficient fund for education in Nigeria so as to rescue the sector from its present epilepitic state.

Conclusively, President Muhammadu Buhari need to consider the engagement of capable hands to oversee the education sector to bring about effective management and achievement of the cardinal goals of education in Nigeria.

At this crucial moment, we need competent hands that will identify problems agonizing the sector and harness judiciously available resources towards alleviating them.
